For elevator shell glass, Alcam performs tempering process according to TS EN 12150-1 and thermal bath test (Heat soak test) is performed on tempered glass according to TS EN 14179-1 if requested. After the tempering process, the impact resistance of the glass increases 5 times more than the flat glass. Heat soak test is a destructive test that eliminates the risk of unexpected tempered glass explosions. Alcam performs drilling processes in CNC drilling centers due to its mounting precision and the most sensitive tolerances are applied. In this way Alcam, manufactures qualified elevator Shell glass that enables sensitive processes such as holes in elevator shell glass to be performed with high quality workmanship that will not cause any problems during assembly. Alcam, uses Trosifol Ultra Clear PVB as a standard in glass elevators and uses stiff PVB or SentryGlasXtra(SGX) for increased security demands.
